Hypnosis

Hypnosis is effective because it works in the way that the brain naturally works and the use of hypnosis can be a very safe and gentle psychological tool.

There is no mystery about hypnosis.  In the capable hands of an experienced clinical hypnotherapist, hypnosis can be used to make the changes in your life that you want to make.  Safely and successfully.  Your mind works on two levels.  The conscious and the subconscious.  When your conscious mind (the one that allows you to make decisions) is relaxed, your subconscious mind (the one that does things automatically) is open to beneficial suggestions.  These suggestions can then help to change unwanted habits and behaviour.

During hypnosis we become focused internally and our conscious mind is put to one side. We are aware of what is going on around us but do not feel involved. This enables the therapist to work with the subconscious mind which is in a receptive state to positive suggestions.

Hypnosis makes it much easier for you to ‘think’ about a situation in an entirely different way. Changing how we feel is a much easier and comfortable way of lifting problems.

Some people become more deeply hypnotised than others, but it is entirely possible to use lighter levels of hypnosis very successfully. Most people experience hypnosis as a very pleasant and relaxing experience.
